Our Mission

At StowTown Resource, we believe music is a powerful tool for ministry—capable of bringing hope, deepening faith, and proclaiming truth. Our mission is to elevate artists who create theologically sound music and to make their work accessible to worship teams, music directors, and believers everywhere. We aim to serve both broad and specific audiences, bridging generational gaps in the Church through the unifying power of worship. Whether it’s a timeless hymn or a fresh worship anthem, our goal is to get the Church singing together again, with one heart and one voice.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly… singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” —Colossians 3:16 (ESV)

Our Story

StowTown Worship and StowTown Resource were not created as a trend-driven expansion of a label. They were born from a real and growing need in the local church. The vision was simple: to offer the Church rich options of style, rhythm, and harmony—bringing Gospel depth and musical substance to help balance the increasing commercialism in today’s worship space.

For years, StowTown Records had focused on preserving and advancing Gospel music with excellence and theological integrity. Over time, it became clear that churches needed more than great recordings. They needed tools—accurate charts, orchestrations, stems, and resources that would serve real musicians leading real congregations.

That need became especially clear through partnership with the Brooklyn Tabernacle. After the pandemic significantly reduced their once 300+ voice choir, important questions arose: How do you move forward without pretending the past still looks the same? How do you honor decades of legacy while embracing present reality?

The answer was stewardship—not recreation. Honor what God has done, serve what He is doing now, and trust Him with what comes next.

Nearly 40 years of music from the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir catalog were restored and refreshed. Recordings were revisited. Split tracks were remixed. Outdated music was corrected and rebuilt. New stems and rehearsal tools were created to meet today’s worship demands.

Out of that work, StowTown Worship emerged—focused on biblically grounded, choir-driven, Gospel-rooted worship for today’s Church.

To support it, a dedicated transcription and chart team was formed under the leadership of J. Daniel Smith, establishing a clear and consistent standard for premiere anthem and orchestration charts. Excellence became not just a goal, but a system.

As the vision grew, StowTown Resource became the home for these materials—making charts, orchestrations, stems, and translations accessible in one place. What began as a solution for one ministry quickly became a resource for many.

Today, that vision is expanding globally, with teams in Brazil, Italy, France, and across Latin America translating and publishing music in their own languages—removing barriers so churches everywhere can access Gospel-centered worship.
